Computational Thinking is the basis of Robotics and Programming. It is very useful when it comes to orienting the analysis and resolution of problems involving decision-making, autonomous work and team work and offers tools that help to find new and imaginative solutions

The project Computational Thinking in Pre-service Teacher's Training (PECOFIM) of the University of Girona (UdG) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) aims to involve future teachers in processes that will transform, in an interdisciplinary way, teaching and learning in some of the curricular areas of early childhood and primary stages education, helping to develop, especially, mathematical competence, competence in knowledge and interaction with the physical world and digital competence. With this work, it is also expected to focus on the development of the digital competence of future teachers.

The project is funded by the call Ajuts de Recerca per a la Millora en la Formació Inicial de Mestres (Research Assistance for the Improvement in Early Teacher Training - Code 2015 ARMIF 00031), awarded by the Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i Recerca (AGAUR) with a duration of two years (2016-2018). Teachers from four primary schools: Escola Carme Auguet (Girona), Escola Llar - Lluís M. Mestras (Olot), Escola Pia (Granollers) and School Projecte (Barcelona) have also participated in it.
